Local AI Guide
Running models on your own GPU should not start with a forum search. The Local AI Guide is part of onboarding and Settings: it reads the hardware facts of a machine you have paired through Auteur Bridge, recommends local models that fit it, and says why. It is a platform feature that comes with your Auteur products, and it is in beta.
What it does
- Fit before download: recommendations come from what your machine can actually run, so a model that does not fit is not suggested.
- Reasons, not a black box: each recommendation comes with a short explanation, and facts the Guide does not know stay marked as unknown.
- Your consent, every time: advice never downloads anything. Installing a model goes through the same consent card and approval as any other change to your machine.
- An assistant if you want one: you can ask follow-up questions through an AI provider connection you choose; without one, the guided recommendations still work.
- Privacy by design: the Guide works from identity-free hardware facts, not a raw profile of your computer.
“I have a 24 GB card. Which local models can fill my draft and judge seats, and what would each one unlock?”
Where it runs
The Guide runs in your workspace during onboarding and in Settings, and it needs a machine paired through Auteur Bridge. What each local lane needs is on the requirements page.
