Auteur Intelligence™ — Refund and Cancellation Policy

Version 2026-10-09

In plain words

Auteur Intelligence subscriptions are billed in advance for the applicable subscription period. You may cancel at any time, and cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.

We do not ordinarily refund part of a subscription period that has already begun. Two important exceptions apply: we offer a one-time full refund of your first-ever payment to Auteur Intelligence if you request it within 14 days, and if we discontinue a paid Product or end a paid programme before the end of prepaid time, we will refund the unused portion of the Auteur fees you paid for that affected period.

Auteur Intelligence is public-beta software. Bugs can occur, including bugs that affect automated workflows or connected third-party services. Charges, credits, subscription allowances, tokens, compute, generations, or other usage billed by a third-party provider are not Auteur charges and are not covered by this Refund and Cancellation Policy, including where an Auteur bug or defect caused or contributed to that third-party usage.

This Policy is part of the Auteur Intelligence Terms of Service.

1. Subscription billing

Unless your written offer states otherwise, subscriptions are billed in advance for the applicable billing period through our designated payment provider.

Fees are stated in the currency shown at checkout or in your written offer and are exclusive of taxes that we are required to collect.

7-day trial. When an offer includes a 7-day trial, we collect your credit card, debit card, or other accepted payment method at signup but do not charge the subscription fee at signup. Our payment processor may perform a temporary authorization or verification of the payment method.

Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the paid subscription begins immediately when the 7-day trial ends and the payment method on file is automatically charged the subscription price disclosed at signup, plus applicable taxes. Cancelling during the trial prevents that first subscription charge.

After the trial converts to a paid subscription, subscriptions renew automatically for the same billing period until cancelled.

2. Cancelling your subscription

You may cancel at any time through the cancellation method available in your account or by contacting us at hello@auteurintelligence.com.

Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the subscription period you have already paid for.

You keep access to the applicable paid Products through the end of that period unless your account is suspended or terminated for a material violation of the Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy.

We do not charge a cancellation fee.

We do not ordinarily refund the unused remainder of a subscription period that has already begun, except as stated in Sections 3 and 4 or where applicable law requires otherwise.

If you cancel and later return, the then-current price and plan terms apply unless a separate written offer expressly gives you a continuing rate or other continuing benefit.

3. First-payment refund

If you request cancellation within 14 days after your first-ever payment directly to Auteur Intelligence, we will refund that first payment in full and close or cancel the applicable subscription.

This first-payment refund is available once per customer.

To request it, email hello@auteurintelligence.com or use any refund method we make available in your account.

This voluntary refund does not reduce any additional refund, cooling-off, withdrawal, or cancellation right that applicable law gives you.

4. If Auteur discontinues a paid Product or programme

Auteur Intelligence is an actively developed public-beta platform. Products, features, and plans may change over time.

If we discontinue a paid Product or paid programme and, as a result, you lose access to something you have already prepaid for before the end of the applicable paid period, we will:

A change, replacement, redesign, temporary interruption, provider change, beta bug, or removal of an individual feature does not automatically constitute discontinuation of an entire paid Product. Whether a refund is due under this section depends on whether we ended paid access for which you had prepaid and can no longer provide the purchased Product or materially equivalent access for the remainder of that prepaid period.

5. Hosted data after cancellation or closure

When your paid or authorized hosted access ends, your hosted workspace remains available for export for 90 days.

You are responsible for downloading anything you wish to keep during that period.

After the 90-day export period, hosted project content may be deleted according to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Cancellation of an Auteur subscription does not cancel any third-party subscription, service, API account, credit plan, software licence, or other account you connected to Auteur.

6. Third-party charges, credits, subscriptions, and usage are not refundable by Auteur

Charges imposed by a third-party provider on an account you own or control are not charges paid to Auteur Intelligence and are outside this Refund and Cancellation Policy.

This includes, without limitation:

Auteur Intelligence does not reimburse third-party charges, purchase replacement credits, restore consumed third-party credits, compensate for lost provider allowances, or refund fees paid directly to a third party.

This applies even when third-party usage was unexpected and even when an Auteur Product error or defect caused or contributed to the usage.

For example, a retry loop, duplicated request, runaway task, repeated generation, delayed stop signal, queue error, provider timeout, inaccurate usage estimate, automation error, integration defect, or other public-beta bug may cause a connected provider to consume more resources than you intended. The resulting third-party usage and charges remain your responsibility to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

You are responsible for monitoring your connected accounts and for using provider-side hard spending limits, quotas, budgets, approval controls, prepaid balances, or other account protections whenever available.

Auteur may provide its own warnings, estimates, soft limits, approval gates, rate limits, or stop controls, but unless we expressly identify a control as a guaranteed hard billing limit, those controls are safeguards and not guarantees against third-party charges.

If you believe a bug is causing unexpected third-party usage, stop the affected workflow where possible, disconnect or revoke the affected provider credential when appropriate, use the provider's own account controls, and notify us. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to investigate and correct reported material defects promptly.

7. What we do not refund

Except where Sections 3 or 4 apply or where applicable law requires otherwise, we do not refund:

8. Billing errors

If Auteur Intelligence bills you incorrectly, charges you an amount you did not authorize, or duplicates an Auteur charge by mistake, contact us and we will investigate.

If we determine that we billed you in error, we will correct the error and refund the incorrect Auteur charge.

A billing error by Auteur is different from third-party usage generated through a connected provider account. Section 6 governs third-party provider charges.

9. Chargebacks and payment disputes

If you believe an Auteur charge is incorrect, please contact us at hello@auteurintelligence.com so we have an opportunity to investigate and correct the issue.

Nothing in this section limits any right you have under applicable payment-card rules or law.

A chargeback against an Auteur payment does not reverse or reimburse charges imposed directly by a third-party provider.

10. How Auteur refunds are paid

Approved refunds of amounts paid to Auteur Intelligence are returned through the original payment method where reasonably possible.

Once we issue a refund, processing time depends on the payment provider and your financial institution.

We are not responsible for delays caused by a bank, card issuer, payment processor, or other third party after the refund has been issued by us.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time.

A change to this Policy does not retroactively remove a refund right that had already accrued under the version applicable to a completed payment.

Where required by law, we will provide notice of material changes affecting existing customers.

12. Statutory rights

Nothing in this Policy limits any refund, cancellation, cooling-off, withdrawal, consumer-protection, or other right that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or waive.

If applicable law gives you a right that is more favorable than this Policy, that right applies.
